The Hamilton’s
Brooklyn, NY
www.myspace.com/thehamiltonsrock
The Hamiltons is the new project of the NYC singer/songwriters Nini Camps, Marilyn D'Amato, Trina Hamlin and Ashen Keilyn.
Better known for their individual musical efforts, The Hamiltons is the coming together of super talented female musicians and longtime friends.
The idea sparked a few years ago, when the girls banded together for a singer songwriter circle, which went on to become one of NACA's (National Association for Campus Activities) most successful college touring acts.
Although the girls enjoyed success as solo artists, demand to see them perform together kept growing. Their undeniable onstage chemistry and the blending of individual styles of pop, rock, folk and blues has generated a large and growing fan base. In fact, the first pressing of their 6-song Limited Edition EP, "The Hamiltons" sold-out before they finished their first U.S. Tour this past fall.
Individually, the girls have shared stages with artists like Sarah McLachlan, The Indigo Girls, Ani DiFranco, and Los Lonely Boys, and have played venues ranging from NYC's Madison Garden to the Newport Folk Festival. They have appeared on HBO's "The Sopranos" and NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," and have had their music featured in numerous feature films and network television programs.
In between touring individually and performing as "The Hamiltons," the girls are in the studio recording their first full length collaborative CD entitled "We Are The Hamiltons," due out in 2008. |

Tracy Rice
Ontario, Canada
www.tracyrice.com
Canadian singer/songwriter Tracy Rice hit the international stage in 2003 when she opened for country music's Terri Clark and then won a Nashville Song Search songwriting award for her single, "Won't Leave You Behind." Subsequently, she took the plunge and moved to the US where she is fast becoming known for her powerful alto, no-holds-barred lyrics, and passionate stage presence.
Her style has been described in various combinations of rock, pop, folk, acoustic, country, and "blue-eyed soul." While fans tend to see the singer/songwriter as a rocker, reviewers of her latest country pop EP 'Truth' note her ability to walk the line between rock and New Country, evoking characterizations of the love child of Melissa Etheridge and Terri Clark. The daughter of Scottish and Barbadian immigrants, Rice appreciates versatility and jokingly claims to be only as country as her childhood idols, the Eagles. Onstage, she is a consummate entertainer, delighting first-time audiences with a blend of Canadian good humor, husky vocals, and rock snarl.
In Spring 2006, Rice toured as an opener for fingerstyle legend Tommy Emmanuel. The following is a review from the Austin, TX show:
"Tracy Rice is as genuine as 24-carat gold. She is the real deal. Her voice is as clean and clear as a mountain stream, but the power behind it is pure white-water rapids. Her original songs are full of happiness, loneliness, hopefulness, fear, and courage. They are personal tales of her unvarnished humanity. And the Cactus Cafe (Austin) crowds loved her. Tracy thanked the audience for their sincere attention, but it was clear that appreciation for sharing her touching songs was a two-way street. Hers is a talent truly worthy of attention and respect."

Justin LaGrange
Indianapolis, IN
www.
myspace.com/somecallitindianaromance
Justin LaGrange is a Jasper Indiana (Yeah…it’s about 3 ½ to 4 inches Northeast of Evansville on the map…) native who graduated in 2007 from the University of Southern Indiana with a BS in public relations. (Which he is beginning to find ironic…) Justin has been playing the Evansville and Henderson scene for the past three years doing numerous performances with bands such as “Lush,” “Stompbox 40,” and “Bish,” as well as playing a plethora of acoustic sets along side fellow singer/songwriter John Gauer. (Who is awesome, by the way, and you should check out if you get the chance.) His solo efforts have produced two albums, “Something to Say,” and “I Found Myself Lost.” Justin’s musical style is as versatile as his taste. Of his material, Justin states, “I think I am kind of like most people in the respect that I enjoy music. If it’s good, I’ll listen to it. Even if just a part of a song gets me, I’m in. I think that the music I write tends to reflect that ‘no particular direction’ mind frame.” With the musical styling of everything from Jack Johnson and Ben Harper to Soundgarden and Nirvana, Justin seems to be all over the map generating destinations that virtually all tastes can enjoy resting at for a breath of naturally fresh air. “I was raised on James Taylor, Perry Como, Quiet Riot, and Phantom of the Opera,” Justin says, “so music in general has kind of always been an omnipresent drawing attraction in my life. My first memory of remembering has a soundtrack. It’s just kind of always been that music has played a lead character in my life’s progression. I simply enjoy getting melody out of this state we are all in called living.” Justin currently resides in Indianapolis where he is working on his third solo album, “Into the Grey,” due out in the later part of 2008. (And where he is also a janitorial engineer for the time being…) You can check out a sample of Justin’s work on his myspace page by typing in myspace.com/somecallitindianaromance. (And I have NO clue where that name comes from, but I thank Autumn for creating me a page! Hope to hear anyone’s thoughts on my material. It’s always nice to hear comments from people other than my mother. Not that I don’t like hearing from my mother; she’s just bias.) |

Amanda Lucas & Audrey Cecil
Louisville, KY
www.myspace.com/amandalucasmusic www.myspace.com/audreycecil
Singer/songwriters Amanda Lucas and Audrey Cecil have developed quite a name for themselves in the Midwest/Southern regions although they are fairly new to the music scene and one another. Both formerly parts of other bands and solo acts, these two couldn’t pass up the chemistry they found while playing as a duo.
Music served as the driving force for the reconnection of these childhood friends after they had been out of touch for over a decade. With their tight harmonies, catchy tunes, and heartfelt lyrics; Amanda Lucas and Audrey Cecil have taken their local music scene by storm and are looking forward to sharing the stage with major international touring acts even though their life as a duo is still in its infancy.
Audrey’s brand of clean guitar playing and ability to find a harmony matches perfectly with Amanda’s strong-as-steel vocal style and knack for creating an infectious rhythm. Along with their on-stage chemistry, Amanda and Audrey have found a wonderful mixture of writing styles to create a strong songwriting force as a duo. Amanda’s pop tendencies and Audrey’s acoustic folk style mesh perfectly to create catchy, well-written tunes. Look for great things out of this Louisville, KY duo.
"What a fantastic addition Amanda and Audrey have been to the Louisville music scene. Both incredibly talented musicians in their own right, what they have found as a duo is truly special. With strong original songs filled with intricate harmonies and solid musicianship, they are an up-and-coming duo that is not to be missed. As a lover of great music, it’s truly a luxury to have such a talented pair right here in my backyard. I expect great things for them!"
