HISTORY
In February of 2006 a small group gathered at a local coffee shop and discussed the desire to form a non for profit organization whose mission was to help secure the rights of Southern Indiana’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgendered (LGBT) citizens. The name of the organization was Southern Indiana Dedicated to Equality or SIDE.

We wanted to raise money to help SIDE get started with their efforts and thought back to something we had gone to a few months before. In December of 2005 several of us had gone to our first house concert and fell in love with the artist and the whole idea of having such an amazing talent right there in the living room so close and personal. We, as a group, love music and knew that our friends loved music and socializing and decided this would be a great way to raise money for SIDE and in turn, would support the artists. A benefit concert was formed under the name of the InSide Out Music Festival.

Our first concert was in June of 2006. We had four amazingly talented independent artists with over 200 attendees. We raised over $2500 for SIDE and received such incredible feedback from all that we decided to make it an annual event to raise money for other non profit organizations whose mission is to make an impact and affect a positive change.
